Vipava Valley

A karst valley in the Slovenian Littoral (Primorska region), running east–west between the Nanos plateau and the Italian border. The Bora wind, Mediterranean climate, and volcanic soils create conditions for some of Slovenia's finest indigenous white wines — Zelen and Pinela grown nowhere else on earth. Ajdovščina and Vipava town are the main centres. The valley sits 30 minutes east of Trieste and 60 minutes from Ljubljana — a quiet, authentic alternative to the Slovenian coast with rising real estate interest and very limited supply of new-build residential.
